Barbara Pinkerton

Barbara Pinkerton had not had any formal training in art until she enrolled in a summer art class at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. She knew from the beginning, though, that art was her passion, and soon she was majoring in art education. Afterward, she volunteered in the Decatur elementary schools, teaching art to gifted and talented students for over seven years. Before long, in 1991, she decided to open her own school, and the rest is history.

An accomplished artist in her own right, Mrs. Pinkerton says that art is the cheapest therapy there is. It is a means of opening people's eyes to what God has provided, seeing the beauty of the surrounding world . The best part of teaching, she says, is seeing the progress that the students make by putting their own personalities into the works.
